What is the Mercury backed warranty?
Mercury Avator holds a three-year corrosion warranty in addition to the three-year limited warranty, which also extends to the controls and rigging. Avator batteries and charging accessories come with two years of limited factory warranty.
How are the engine and battery shipped?
The Avator is shipped by either UPS Ground or LTL freight and delivered to the nearest Mercury Dealer for the customer to pickup at their convenience. This ensures that the engine packages are delivered safely without risk of damage, theft or loss in transit. Furthermore, the assigned Mercury Dealer will certify proper warranty validation on behalf the customer. Following the placing of an order, a member of our customer care team will reach out to provide white glove service. Namely, we confirm our customer's preferred / nearest pickup location. Additionally, if a customer is traveling we can arrange for their engine and catamaran to be delivered to their vacation destination or a dealer located along their travel path.
How to store the Avator battery when not in use?
The battery should be stored in a dry & shaded environment and in moderate temperatures ideally between 5°-15°C / 41°F - 59°F. During storage we recommend that the battery maintain a minimum charge of 60% or more, and be charged every 3 months.
Is the Avator safe for both fresh and saltwater use?
Yes, the Avator is built with high-quality corrosive resistant materials and designed for extensive use in both fresh & saltwater.
How long does it take to fully charge Avator 7.5 battery?
The Avator 7.5e outboard is compatible with 110 and 230 watt chargers. The included 110 watt model can recharge a fully depleted 1 kWh battery in approximately 9 hours. When faster charge time is needed the upgraded 230 watt charger, sold separately, can complete a full charge in around 4 hours.
What is the maximum range of the Avator?
At 25% throttle the Avator can operate for approximately 19 hours and travel a distance of 34 miles (55 km).
How does the Avator compare to a combustion engine?
The Avator performs with speed and acceleration figures most similar to the Mercury 3.5hp FourStroke outboard.
