If the customer is traveling, we can also coordinate delivery of the engine and catamaran to their vacation destination or to a dealer along their route.
How to store the electric engine when not in use?
The eLite should be stored in a dry & shaded environment and in moderate temperatures ideally between 5°-15°C / 41°F - 59°F. During storage we recommend that the battery maintain a minimum charge of 60% or more, and be charged every 3 months.
What is the engine's temperature tolerance?
Designed to perform in a wide range of conditions, the eLite operates reliably in temperatures from 23°F to 131°F, making it suitable for diverse climates.
Is the eLite safe for both fresh and saltwater use?
Yes, the eLite is built with high-quality corrosive resistant materials and designed for extensive use in both fresh & saltwater.
Does the eLite float if dropped in water?
No, the eLite does not float and should be handled carefully near the water.
Can an external battery be connected?
No, the battery is internal and not designed to work with external power sources.
Does the motor tilt?
The eLite offers three main tilt positions: fully up for storage, down for standard use, and angled for shallow water. It includes trim settings at 8°, 17°, and 26°, with a 75° full tilt and a 36° shallow-water tilt for added versatility.

Can the shaft length be adjusted?
Yes, the shaft has four adjustable height settings and can be changed using a hex wrench. The engine is already positioned in the standard short-shaft position to be compatible with our Laguna catamarn kits. However, it can be adjusted to a range of transom heights for other vessels. The short shaft can be set to 15.8", 14.27", 12.7", or 11.1".
How long does it take to fully charge eLite?
The ePropulsion eLite electric outboard motor offers several charging options, each with different charge times:
Standard AC Charger (110/220V):
Charging takes approximately 4 to 5 hours using the included standard household charger.
12V DC Charger (Optional Accessory):
When connected to a 12V power source such as a vehicle or marine battery, charging typically takes 6 to 8 hours, depending on the battery's current level and power supply.
Solar Charging (Optional Accessory):
Charging time varies based on the wattage of the solar panel and available sunlight. This option is ideal for off-grid use with compatible solar charging equipment.
What is the maximum range of the eLite?
- Full Power (500W): Approximately 45 minutes of runtime, achieving speeds up to 7.5 km/h (4.7 mph), resulting in a range of about 5.6 km (3.5 miles).
- Half Power (250W):Around 1.5 hours of operation at speeds near 6 km/h (3.7 mph), covering up to 9 km (5.6 miles).
- Low Power (Approximately 1/5 Power): Up to 3 hours and 20 minutes of runtime at speeds around 4.5 km/h (2.8 mph), allowing for a range of approximately 15.1 km (9.4 miles).
How does the eLite compare to a combustion engine?
The ePropulsion eLite electric outboard motor is roughly equivalent to a 1.5 horsepower (HP) gasoline outboard engine in terms of thrust and performance.
While electric motors and gas engines differ in how they deliver power (electric motors provide instant torque and smoother power curves), the eLite's 500W output provides comparable thrust to a traditional 1.5HP gas motor, especially for small boats, dinghies, kayaks, or as a lightweight tender motor.
It's best suited for calm water conditions and light loads, where efficiency and quiet operation are key.
What is Sport Mode?
Sport Mode on the ePropulsion eLite provides a short-term power boost, increasing output from 500W to 750W for up to one minute. It's ideal for quick maneuvers or overcoming current. Activate it by double-pressing the power button; press again to exit.
